In May 2007 and until January 2013 I had the opportunity to be a commercial store manager for Telecor, a telecommunications company of El Corte Inglés.
This experience led me to be in the stores of Reus and Tarragona, dedicating myself to the sales of a type of product that I still love today, such as telecommunications.
Telecor was a company that commercialized the products and services of the main mobile operators: Movistar, Vodafone, Orange and Yoigo, as well as other MVNOs, with which I was able to familiarize myself with their own applications, as well as the procedures of each, both private individuals and companies.
Recruitment and customer loyalty
One of the requirements of any good commercial manager (whether shop or not) is to be a proactive person, trying to capture the customer, seeing their needs at all times and proposing the best options to cover them.
In this company I learned a lot in this aspect, since my role had to be to have new clients (either high or portability to the different companies), or to get permanent contracts to existing ones.
Customer service as the main element
One of the points that I have always shared with El Corte Inglés is the special treatment towards the client, considering it as one more asset of the company.
In this sense the deal had to be exquisite, not only until the sale was closed, since in this way of dealing with the client it was up to them to return and they preferred to return before going to the competition.
Sale of all kind of technological products
Although it was very focused on the sale of telephony and telecommunications, Telecor diversified its technological product, opening an extensive market to other services, such as digital screens for companies, computers, or supplies such as electricity, alarms, etc.
Intranet, TPV, Notes y SAP
The use of POS to perform different operations, such as collections, refunds or reservations or intranet, to split payments was a constant in day to day.
We also used Lotus Notes as the main messaging application and SAP in everything related to the management of the physical product stock.
Mobile blog creation
I keep a great memory of that experience as a commercial store manager, as well as the colleagues and bosses from whom I learned a lot about the world of sales.
My passion for the world of mobile telephony was such that I launched a blog with that theme Blog del Móvil a> and that was gaining followers, however I do not keep it updated, but it is still published and receiving visits, even though its content is becoming obsolete over the years.
